February 22, 2012

The last song, "After the War", for the new album was written and recorded in a cafe on 4th Avenue in Tucson on Monday afternoon.

Now what I'll be doing is going through the 12 or 13 songs I really liked and mixing them. I may also go through the ones I didn't like to see if I can possibly breathe some new life into a few of them. I've been thinking about sealing myself off in a hotel room in Jerome or Bisbee to put these final touches on. We'll see what happens.

In the meantime, "Letter from Brooklyn" and "Honey" are still free to download for the rest of the month @ SoundCloud.

January 12, 2012

Lately I've been battling a little bit of insomnia. Last night I pieced together a new track called "Letter from Brooklyn" that I think captures a sound and a feeling which are present in those moments when I wake half in one world and half in another.

The song is available as a free download for the entire month of February on SoundCloud. The new album is still scheduled for a summer release even though most of the songs are just about complete. By the end of the month I should have a better idea of what will be happening next including videos, shows, artwork, remixes, and a few other ideas sitting in my head.
